There be 句型的特点及难点

英语中，there be表示有，存在（强调某处有某人某物或某时存在某人或某物).

there 是引导词，无词义

there be 后面的名词是句子的主语

be 动词 的人称和数要与后面的名词保持一致

并且在多个主语的情况下，be动词在人称与数上采取就近原则。

看例句：

there is a tree behind the house.

主语a tree 是单数，则 be动词用单数is.

there are five cows on the grass. 草场上有五头奶牛。

主语five cows,复数。则be动词也应该是复数形式。所以这里就用be动词的复数形式are.

那么就近原则是怎么回事，我们再看下面的例名：

there is a coat amd two schoolbags on the table.

there are two schoolbags and a coat on the table.

a few years ago, there was a fence and three trees in the yard .

a few years ago, there were three trees and a fence in the yard.

在这几个例句中，a coat与 two schoolbags. a fence与 three tree是 两个并列主语，句子表达的内容是相同的，但是因为主语的个数不是唯一这种情况下，be动词是单数（is, was)还是复数(are,were)则取决于相邻的主语是单数（或是不可数名词）还是复数。

there be 有肯定式，否定式，疑问式三种形式。

其肯定式结构如下：

1，there be (is或was)+可数名词单数/不可数名词+地点/时间。

2, there be(are或were)+可数名词复数+地点/时间。

否定式：be后面直接加not或no。其结构如下：

1, there be(is, was)+not a /an /any+名词单数/不可数名词

也可以there be(is,was)+no+名词单数/不可数名词

2, there be(are, were)+not +any/+可数名词复数或there be(are, were)+no+可数名词复数也可以。

疑问式：

将be动词移到there 前，其结构为：

Be there +主语+状语（地点、时间）

疑问式的回答：

Yes, there be .

No, there be not 或be+not的缩写形式。

there be 句型的特殊疑问式：

当对there be句型中的主语、地点状语或数量进行提问时，需用特殊疑问式，其结构为：特殊疑问词+其他？

一， 对主语的提问

主语是人，结构为：Who is /was+状语+其他?

There is a baby in the stroller. 对主语a baby 提问，则疑问句为：Who is in the stroller.

主语是物，结构为：What is /was+状语+其他？

There is a bed in the room.对主语a bed提问，则为：

What is in the room？

备注：对主语提问时，不管原句中的主语是否单复数，be都用单数形式 is/was,而回答时，再看主语是单数还是复数。然后决定用be 的哪种形式如：

二， 对地点状语提问：结构为：Where is/are+主语+其他？

例如：There is a computer in my bedroom.

对in my bedroom地点状语提问：Where is a computer?

三，对数量的提问：一是对可数名词的提问用 How many；二是对不可数名词的提问用How much.我们来看例句：

There are twelve months in a year.对数量提问时，How many months in a year?

There is some money in my wallet. 因为money不可数名词，应用How much提问。肯定句中用some，而疑问句则变为any.则此句变为疑问句：How much money in your wallet?

注意： my 转为your。在疑问句，第一人称一定转为第二人称。

如：There is only one pear in the bag.

There is only one pen in my pencil。

How many pears are in the bag? How many pens are in your pencil?

对数量 only one提问，这两句都用how many 提问，而谓语动词be 则用复数。为什么呢？就是因为在询问之前，并不知道pear与 pen 的具体数量，以为很多。
