表示转折关系的连词

常见的表示转折关系的并列连词有but(但是)，while(然而)，yet(然而)等。

1.but的用法

but意为“但是，然而，可是”，连接两个句法作用相同的单词、短语或句子。

例句：(1)He is young,but very experienced.

(连接两个作表语的形容词)

(2)The man was so tired,but he still went on working.

(连接两个分句)

(3)He is rich,but he is unhappy.

(=Although/Though he is rich,he is unhappy.在but连接的并列句中，but前面的分句可以转换为 although/though引导的让步状语从句，但转换为从句后应删去but。)

2.while的用法

while在表示转折关系时，往往连接内容和结构对称的两个部分，用来表示鲜明的对比。

例句：(1)I love strong tea while my father loves coffee.

(2)At school,some students are active while some are shy.

3.yet的用法

yet意为“但是，然而”，常连接句子，表示惊讶或者转折。

例句：(1)She said she would be late,yet she arrived on time.

(2)Mike was usually so careful,yet this time he made a small mistake.

注意：although不能与表示转折的but连用，但是可以与yet连用。另外，yet用作副词时可与并列连词 and或but连用，构成习语and yet或but yet,且两者大致同义，均想当与表转折的but。
